Carbon steels have so many uses in power and gas transmission. These steel materials have been
mainly placed in the soil. Such factors as PH and soil resistivity caused the corrosion of main
expensive facilities. The purpose of present research is to investigate the role of PH and soil
resistivity of different soils on the rate of steel corrosion. Here four pieces of the same steel with
the same size were kept in different climates for 3 months and their changes were monitored
weekly. Finally, the effects of these two factors have been studied, then compared. At following,
it is attempted that by applying computational methods and modelling, the behavior of these
alloys against these factors have been simulated , also predicted. Then, the theoretical and
experimental data were compared in order to attain generalized results for various types of steel.
