A Novel Multiplicative Steganography Technique in Contourlet Domain

Steganography is the art of communicating secret data in an appropriate cover multimedia. In this paper, we propose a novel multiplicative image steganography technique which aims to embed secret data in a cover image without making any explicit alteration. In order to do so, we decompose image using contourlet transform and divide high frequency subbands into blocks of coefficients. Then, we embed the secret data using an embedding coefficient (α). In extraction phase, we use Gaussian scale mixture distribution in order to extract the embedded data with high precision. Experimental results show that our proposed approach can attain imperceptibility while remains undetected by related steganalysis technique.
