A local collocation method based on inverse multiquadric radial basis function has been developed to solve an unsteady convection-diffusion equation. Such approach convert the problem to a sparse global system of equations with low condition number. Applicability of the method has been tested by an example, the obtained results verify the accurate nature of the present method.
