Objectives: This study was done to evaluate the efficacy of the PRP Mesechymal cells, for binding between ear-cartilage tissues in growth plate defect and preventing bony bridge formation. Design: In the present study the type of the design was experimental and analytical study Animals: 15 four months lambs were selected to make defect in the ½ length of growth plate and subsequently fill with harvested autologous ear cartilage. Procedures: This experiment was approved by our faculty’s animal ethics committee. The under strict aseptic condition the right tibial growth plate in all 15 lambs of four months age were exposed and ½ length wise growth plate tissue was completely removed using dental bit under general anesthesia Immediately the defect was filled using harvested autologous cartilage from ear. Subsequently these lambs were divided into 3 subgroups of 5 lambs each. The first group was acted as control ,whereas the second group the grafted cartilage was mixed with 1 ml of PRP and the lambs of 3rd group, the cartilage was impregnated with mesenchymal cells ( 10 6) before closure of muscles and skin. The left tibia growth plate from the three operated groups were analysed using CT scan evaluation before operation, after creating the defect and on 60 days post -operatively Results: The persistence of the cartilage iatrogenic lesion ossified tissue and some part non –ossified tissue and in some cases abnormalities in mineralization with moderate deformities were observed in control group, whereas the bony bridge was developed at the site of defect in 2nd group and bony bridge formation was partially prevented at the defected area with no sign of deformities in the 3rd group lambs Conclusion and Clinical Relevance: The results of the CT scan showed that Mesenchymal cells PRP can enhance osteo- integration of cartilage tissue with that of physeal bone in lamb
