    Discovery-based learning opportunities on studentʹs outcomes would be very helpful. This paper has been developed for high school students. The focus of the paper is the enhancement of their learning through discovery-based learning method. Lectures, assignments, and discussions led to introducing students to fuel cells and developing the basics of thermodynamics, electrochemistry, and other disciplines prerequisites to explain fuel cell operation. Relevant technical papers and PowerPoint slides were brought into the classroom to facilitate these discussions. This improves studentʹs confidence in engaging technical literature, critically analyzing the work, and applying appropriate use of the results. By the end of the lesson students will obtain valuable experience and knowledge bringing together the topics of their education into the fuel cells application. Much of the lesson focused on the technical details of fuel cells. These societal, environmental, and economic factors were explored with grounding in technical knowledge. In this paper the formal course learning objectives, syllabus, and assignments were described.
