Nanofluids are fluids with suspended nanoparticles (with diameter less than 100nm) in them. These fluids have demonstrated grate potentials for heat transfer enhancement. In this study the thermal conductivity of SiO2 nanofluids has been studied according to the type of base fluid, size of nanoparticles and volumetric concentration and experimental results are compared to classic and novel models of nanofluids thermal conductivity. Results show that increase in concentration, decrease in diameter of nanoparticles and base fluid thermal conductivity of base fluid have noticeable effect on enhancementof thermal conductivity.
