Effects of gel composition, crystallization temperature and crystallization time on the hydrothermal synthesis of AlPO4-5 crystals were studied. Triethylamine (TEA) was used as structure directing agent (SDA) for AlPO4-5 synthesis. The AlPO4-5 crystals were structurally characterized using XRD, SEM and EDAX analyses. Hexagonal-shaped AlPO4-5 crystals were obtained at a synthesis temperature of 453 K with a crystallization period of 6 h. The shape and size of the aluminum phosphate crystals was sensitive to the crystallization temperature and time duration. The crystal size increased by crystalization temperature and duration.
