Since the existence of heavy metal in waste water are one of the major problem in todays environment,the efforts have we maid to remove this heavy metals with some methods. One of which is adsorption. In this study the adsorption of Copper ions in hydrated copper nitrate (Cu (No3)2, 3H2O) aqueous solution on Bentonite was investigated.Removal of Cu (II) from aqueous solution through adsorption on bentonite,under batch equilibrium experimental condition at pH 2-6 has been investigated.The results showed that increasing of pH increased the adsorption ability of bentonite.Optimum conditions for adsorption were determined as pH=5.5, bentonite dose=3gr.The concentration of metal ions were measured by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS).The result indicate that bentonite with the particle size (1-3mm) are appropriate for adsorbing copper ion.
