Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are promising processes used for harnesing bioenergy while treating wastes. Mathematical modeling are tools for quantitative process evaluating. In this study a model based upon a dual-limitation rate equation is offered which integrates substrate utilization, current production and conduction and microbial distribution and growth. Two cases of substrate concentration and anode voltage limiting effects were investigated. Anode voltage influenced the current density only in the range of -0.025~0.13(V) with respect to resulting in low overpotential. Out of this range, substrate concentration would be the sole limiting factor. Current density saturated in both cases for high values in a specific dynamic behaviour. The bacterial distribution over biofilm adapted with the limiting condition
