In the present study, we were studied the decomposition of carbon dioxide to produce useful
chemicals at low temperature with a photocatalytic reaction system using nano unmodified TiO2
and N-doped TiO2 particles coated on stainless steel mesh. The experiments were done under UV
irradiation in an appropriate gas-phase batch reactor. GC analysis was used for measuring the
concentration of components during reaction.also, SEM,XRD,XRF and UV-visible analysis was
used to characterize photocatalyst samples and investigate effects of N atoms presence on their
chemical structure and photoabsorption.The influence of two parameters; calcination temperature
and N-concentration, on the efficiency of the process was investigated. Analaysis of the
experimental results, confirms that N-doping improves both of photoabsorption and photoactivity
of TiO2 under UV irradiation. Finally, optimum experimental conditions were found at 350°C and
0.5M repectively. According to CO2 decomposition reaction, we expect that C as coke and carbon
monoxide are products of this research.
