The most important innovation in the polyolefins field in recent years has been the development and commercialization of metallocene/single-site catalysts (SSCs) for both PE and PP resins, as they have provided new materials that could not be generated with “traditional” catalysts (Ziegler-Natta, chromium etc.). Metallocene catalysts have creaetd new products, new grades, new intercompetition in polymer markets and new cost structures. This paper deals with the resent developments in the production of new polyolefin materials by metallocene.
