"AB" is a low permeability carbonate reservoir with a substantial volume of oil in
place and reserve. an important part of management of this reservoir is currently improving oil
deliverability. reservoir characterization showed that this reservoir has substantial oil in place and
good porosity. due to low permeability, the wells produce in low productivity index and low
drainage area. on the other hand, the reservoir is layered and there are dense layers in top and
bottom of each producing layer and act as stress barriers. as a result of these characters, the
reservoir is selected as hydraulic fracturing treatment candidate. In this paper, we will outline the
steps required to implement hydraulic fracturing process from data sets to fracturing design and
optimization. This paper is organized in two parts. First, Due to limited data available prior to
executing the frac design, we discuss developing a complete and accurate data sets which is
required for fracturing design in "AB" reservoir. Then we discuss and analyze the results of 3D
fracturing model design on a sample well of "AB" reservoir using proper softwares.
