Carbon dioxide (CO2) as a greenhouse gas plays a vital role in global warming and climate change.
One of the sources of CO2 emission is refinery industry, which burn fossil fuels. In this paper, by
surveying and minimizing total CO2 emissions of hydrogen network as one of the refinery units,
applies the mathematical estimation approach for CO2 emission of CO2 sources is optimized a
hydrogen network. Based on this optimization, in an Iranian refinery hydrogen network and for this
case study nonlinear programming (NLP) model is developed. The results of optimized hydrogen
network indicated that total annual cost, and CO2 emissions emitted of hydrogen network have been
decreased 22.4% and 29.1%, respectively.
