This study deals with the wet granulation in a high shear mixer granulator. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of the binder concentration and its mass on the structure and size distribution of the final granules. The structural changes which occurred during the granulation process were also investigated. Granulation runs was performed using alumina powder (d50=1 μm), in the high shear mixers granulator. The granulator included a 1 L bowl, high shear mixer and a chopper. Binders used was included polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) aqueous solution to cover different values for parameters like; binder concentration and amount. The results showed that the an increase in liquid to solid (L/S) lead to forming of coarse granules with wider size distribution and higher density. Furthermore the increasing of binder concentration caused production growths.
