In this study, mechanical properties of epoxy nano composites with highly crystalline graphite nano platelets (GNP) at different contents 0.05, 0.1, 0.25, 0.5 and 1% dispersed in epoxy resin with different ultra-sonication times were considered. A significant enhancement in mechanical properties was obtained with a 0.1% loading of GNP, such as a 10% increase in Young's modulus and 14% in tensile strength. As the amount of the GNP increased, mechanical properties decreased, even below the neat resin tensile strength in 1% GNP loading and the electrical resistivity was decreased with the addition of filler content. Thus, morphology of fracture surface was investigated by FESEM. It was observed that agglomerations lead to decrease in mechanical properties.
