Uniform load surface (ULS) which has been derived from flexibility matrix is used to identify damages in the beam structures. This method is privileged by contribution of lower mode shapes and having less prone to noisy data in comparison with flexibility matrix technique. These characteristics make it a practical tool in the field of damage identification. In this paper, stationary wavelet transform (SWT) multiresolution analysis is employed to refine ULS obtained from damaged structure and then continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is utilized to magnify the irregularity in improved ULS as a sign of damage location. A cantilever beam, as a numerical case, is used to evaluate the proposed approach where the ULS is formed by mode shapes of damaged beam and two kinds of wavelets including symmetrical 4 and bior 6.8 is applied to discern the induced crack. Moreover, an experimental study on a free-free beam is performed with the aim of investigating the practicability of the technique.
