In the present work, a metallic pressure vessel has been designed and manufactured. Hoop welding was used to attach the cylindrical body of the vessel. And, the effect of welding into stress and strain distribution is carried out. This type of vessel is used in aerospace industry, especially for maintenance the oxygen. Pilots use this pressure vessel for providing the engine’s oxygen in high latitude and for breathing. Steel types 304 was used for manufacturing the specimen and it was tested in half of its yield stress. In the field of designing and manufacturing these pressure vessels few article are available. Experimental technique, using strain gauges, was used for recording the strains. In addition, finite element analysis has been performed using general propose program, ABAQUS software. The results of the two methods are compared with each other.
