Open – pore titanium scaffolds were successfully fabricated using space holder method. Mechanical properties of titanium scaffolds were investigated using compression and hardness test. Microstructure of titanium foams were observed using SEM. In order to minimize stress concentration at the pore walls, spherical pores were obtained during fabrication as an excellent alternative for irregular pore shape. The size of the pores was in the range of 200 – 600 μm. Resultant compression strength, Young’s modulus and hardness of the scaffolds with relative densities in the range of 0.34 – 0.65 were observed to vary between 51 – 260 Mpa, 6.3 – 22.66 Gpa and 134 – 341 HV, respectively. In the present study, the relation between mechanical properties and relative density was found to obey power law relation.
