According to the number of joints and bones in foot, scrutinizing its dynamical characteristics and behavior plays a substantial role in foot pathologies and finding best ways of treatment. In this research, flatfoot dynamics has been studied using both experimental data and inverse dynamics simulation. Kinematics and external forces during normal gait were obtained from flatfeet subjects via high-speed cameras and force plate tests, respectively. By providing a five-segmental musculoskeletal model (femr, leg, hind foot, mid foot, and hallux) in AnyBody software and applying necessary experimenta data, muscle forces of the leg have been calculated. During stance phase, there is appropriate adaptation in the value and in the pattern of muscle activities that have been calculated by means of two methods, simulated muscle forces and EMG tests. In the commencement of stance phase, the Tibialis-Anterior affords the most portion of requirement synergy while Gastrocnemius and Soleus are relaxed. On the other hand, by progressing ahead, the beginning trends become vice versa as the produced forces in Gastrocnemius and Soleus increase to their maximum values while Tibialis-Anterior force descends to zero. Therefore the prepared model and its outcomes as well, can be reliable for more investigations in flatfoot and pathological matter.
