فضاي‌سبز از لحاظ زيست محيطي به عنوان شريان‌هاي حياتي شهر‌ها محسوب مي‌شود. اما در سال¬هاي اخير در مناطق با اقليم بياباني و نيمه بياباني، شوري خاك و خشكي، از عوامل محدود كننده رشد گياهان مي‌باشد. بر همين اساس كوشش بسياري انجام شده است كه از گونه‌هاي مقاوم به شوري و خشكي بهره‌برداري شود. توت‌آمريكايي درختي است مقاوم و عجيب و غريب كه داراي تاريخچه طولاني و جالب بوده كه در بين مردم ارزش زيادي پيدا كرده است. هنگامي‌كه اولين بار در اروپا توسط ساكنين اوليه آن كشت شد خيلي سريع كشت آن در سراسر قاره توسعه يافت، كه دليل اين استقبال را مي‌توان به قابليت كشت آن در هر نقطه و شرايطي ربط داد. امروزه مي‌توان اين درخت را در اطراف خانه‌هاي قديمي، استراحت‌گاه‌ها و در امتداد جاده‌ها يافت. اين گياه داراي تاريخچه جذاب و استفاده‌هاي اقتصادي زيادي است. تحقيقات و مطالعات زيادي روي متابوليت هاي ثانويه، مورفولوژي، آناتومي و آفات آن صورت گرفته است. هدف از اين رساله ارائه يك گزارش و خلاصه‌اي از دانسته ها و مطالعات جديد از تاريخچه، اكولوژي و تكثير گونه اخير مي‌باشد.

Today, the tree can be found around old houses, resorts, and along roads. This plant has a lot of interesting history and economic uses. Many studies and studies on secondary metabolites, morphology, anatomy, and pests have been carried out.
