Pitting is one of the most deteriorative localized forms of corrosion attacks that cannot be detected easily. Pitting leads to thinning in Pipeline Wall Thickness (PWT) and decrease in pipeline strength against environmental and operational loads. The aim of this work is to compare the most popular models for estimating Maximum Pitting Depth (MPD), and to determine Remaining Strength of Corroded Pipeline (RSCP) corresponding various Failure Pressure Model (FPM)s using first-order approximation and sampling reliability methods. Furthermore, in order to investigate the effect of each parameter on Probability of Failure (POF), sensitivity analysis is carried out, using gamma index.
