In this research, theoretical and experimental static behavior of sandwich structures has been studied. The core compressibility and the viscoelastic behavior for a sandwich structure are considered as the main assumptions. Face sheets are used to be orthotropic or in some cases isotropic ones and the cores have considerable viscoelastic behaviors. The boundary conditions are assumed to be simply supported. Higher order theory for sandwich structures has been used in theoretical studies. By using first order shear deformation theory for face sheets and elasticity theory for the cores, governing static equations have been obtained and by supposing the different shear and Young moduli, the plate has been modeled as a viscoelastic structure. On the other hand, quasi static experiments have been done. In this case the indentation forces applied to the structures and also the vertical displacements, resulted due to the applied forces, are measured. Finally, the results validation and also the parametric studies will be done to study the effects of different parameter variations.
