This paper proposes a model predictive controller (MPC) for DC microgrids (MGs) interfaced with constant power loads (CPLs). Towards this end, a simple nonlinear model of a DC microgrid is utilized to define an optimal tracking control problem based on minimization of a cost function with the finite- prediction horizon. This feedback control technique can regulate the dc bus voltage to its desired value while guaranteeing the stability of the closed-loop system. The performance of the proposed MPC is evaluated and compared with State-Dependent Riccati Equation (SDRE) controller, through some numerical simulations. The obtained results verify the effectiveness of the proposed controller comparing the SDRE method.
