Coadministration of minoxidil and rosemary essential oil, could enhance the hair growth since both of these drugs have been used for several years to stimulate hair growth, Liposome, the vehicle with the capability of encapsulating hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs appear to be the proper vehicle to encapsulate the herbal and chemical drug concomitantly. Method: the thin film hydration method was used to prepare liposomes which its minoxidil entrapment efficacy was determined with uv spectrophotometry and hydrodistillation method described in European pharmacopeia was used to determine essential oil entrapment efficacy ,then the DLS analysis conducted to determine the particle size and zeta potential of prepared liposome. The results showed that co-encapsulation of minoxidil and essential oil increase the encapsulation efficacy of essential oil whereas the entrapment efficacy of minoxidil did not significantly influenced, In addition, according to the DLS results, the particle size and zeta potential of prepared liposomes was appropriate.
