This paper presents a soft switching high step-up converter. In the proposed converter, no extra switch and only few auxiliary elements are required to enhance voltage gain and efficiency, which significantly reduces the converter cost and volume. The introduced converter increases the voltage gain and reduces the semiconductors voltage stress by applying coupled inductors. Meanwhile, it uses quasi-resonant soft switching technic which employs the converter parasitic elements to achieve full soft switching performance for the semiconductors. Operation principles of the proposed converter is presented in details and its experimental results validate the theoretical analysis. Finally, various features of the proposed converter are compared with some other recent and prominent counterparts.
