Hydrogen is a high-efficiency energy source with application in chemical and aerospace industries. It has wide flammability range and too low ignition energy. So hydrogen explosion is a problem in hydrogen safety. In this article ventilation effects on hydrogen oxidation in confined space is studied by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation. Ventilation has a significant effect on explosion overpressure reduction due to deviation of free radicals of oxidation mechanism. The natural vent is more efficient to pressure loss than other ventilation methods. Natural vent is more effective to reduce free radicals in oxidation of hydrogen and change the path of chain reaction.
