Novel thermally stable composite nanofiltration (NF) membranes were prepared from polyethylenimine (PEI) and cyanuric chloride (CC) on Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) ultrafiltration (UF) membranes by interfacial polymerization. The effects of dye solution concentration on the performance of composite membranes were also discussed. The flux and dye rejection of PVDF composite membranes reached 41.64 L/m2 h and 80% under the optimized conditions and operating pressure of 0.5 MPa. Furthermore, the chemical structure of membranes was examined by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Moreover, the thermal stability of PVDF NF membranes was also investigated. When temperature of the feed solution raised from 25°C to 65°C, the permeation flux increased about two times without significant change of rejection
due to improving the binding between the substrate and the active layer. In a word, polyamine membranes show good thermal stability.
