The main objective of the current study is the experimentally investigation of surfaced modified silica-graphene nanohybrid as a nanofluid in salinity and its effect on wettability of carbonate rock. The nanohybrid was prepared through chemical vapor deposition using silica aerogel and acetylene as catalyst and carbon precursor at atmospheric pressure and 600 ºC and modified through the treatment with acid vapor. The physicochemical properties of the modified nanohybrid were characterized by XPS, and TEM. Zeta potential of −41.1 mV revealed that the surface modification of nanohybrid had an excellent stability in salinity (4 wt% NaCl) due to the presence of exceptional functional groups. The results showed that contact angle diminishes with addition of different concentrations of the modified nanohybrid indicating the wettability alteration to water-wet condition for carbonate rock
