Chemical looping reforming is a new method proposed for syngas and hydrogen production for the sake of reduction of both energy consumption and undesirable emissions. In the present work a simultaneous reduction-oxidation micro assembly is analyzed in a chemical looping process to produce syngas. The process deals with gas-solid reactions, e.g. in the case of reduction of oxygen carriers with methane and oxidation of the particles afterwards. Suitable flow rates and initial temperatures were selected to mitigate temperature fluctuations inside the channels which is damageable for oxygen carriers. A mathematical model was applied to the unified configuration considering dynamic tranport phenomena and chemical reactions. The results of the three cycles show that a syngas with H2/CO ratio of about 6 is obtained during the reduction bed in a cyclic manner. A 100 s reduction was obtained for a suitable syngas production.
