Removal of acid gases such as hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from natural gas is essential in gas industry. Ionic liquids as a green solvent are widely used for separation processes like striping process in acid removal unit. New standards concerning environmental and safety issues are creating an increasing interest on ionic liquids as alternative solvents for a wide range of industrial applications. In this work, the solubility of carbon dioxide in seven bis
(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide-based ionic liquids has been modeled at different temperatures and pressures. A thermodynamics GE-EoS model is developed using the Peng–Robinson equation of state through the Wong- Sandler mixing rule, UNIQUAC and UNIQUAC –NRF
models. The results show that the present model demonstrates good accuracy so that the calculated data are in good agreement with the experiment. The overall pressure deviation for
the systems of ionic liquid/CO2 using the PR+UNIQUAC and PR+ UNIQUAC-NRF models are 7.66 and 7.19, respectively.
