The C3-cutobtained by the steam cracking of ethane, propane, and naphtha typically contains more than 90% propylene and up to 6% methyl acetylene (MA)and propadiene (PD) which are removed by the use of liquid phase hydrogenation in trickle bed reactor (TBR). In this research, the simulation was performed based on porous media concept and using of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technique. Hydrodynamic parameters such a pressure drop, liquid and gas hold up and flow distribution studied in 34000-90000 kg/hr flow rate for liquid phase and 20-141 kg/hr for gas flow that ρL= 490 and ρG= 24 kg/m3. Pressure drop obtained from CFD simulation for multiphase feed velocity 1-15 m/s have good agreement with plant data. CFD results for pressure drop and liquid holdup obtained for VL= 0.45-0.9 m/s and VG= 0.04-0.45 m/s and compared with hydrodynamic models and shown a significant adaptation.
