Homogeneous charge compression ignition (HCCI) engines are a new design to reduce pollutants, as well as different fuels consumption in internal combustion engines (ICEs). Due to strict rules on the produced pollutants, a lot of research has been done on these engines as a new design to take the place of conventional diesel engines. Using zero-dimensional simulation via computational fluid dynamics method, homogeneous combustion of methane fuel is investigated in this study. The obtained results showed that the input temperature plays an important role in evaporating liquid fuel, and therefore, improving combustion. By reducing the input temperature and increasing gas fuel, not only the engine power and efficiency increase, but also the output pollutants will be reasonable based on the determined standards.
