Nanofluids are liquid suspensions containing nanoparticles. In the present
investigation, different types of non-Newtonian nanofluids were prepared. γ-Al2O3, TiO2
and CuO nanoparticles were used while CMC aqueous solution was employed as a non-
Newtonian basefluid. Rheological behavior of these nanofluids was measured over a wide
range of nanoparticle concentration and temperature. Results show that the three
nanofluids, like the basefluid, exhibit pseudoplastic (shear thinning) behavior and that
rheological characteristics are affected by both temperature and particle concentration.
