The potential of evaporative water cooler (EWC) to produce chilled water and the effects of ambient air conditions and air flow rate on
it have been investigated here. An implicit marching finite-difference scheme is employed for solving the governing heat and mass
transfer equations. Numerical results show that the amounts of chilled and evaporated water are increased by increasing the air flow
rate and there is an optimum air flow rate which leads to production of chilled water at higher humidity. This optimum value depends
on ambient air temperature too and decreases with the increase of it.
