Pulsed column, one of the most important liquid-liquid extractors, has an extensive application in different
industries. In this paper, after knowing the most remarkable features of pulsed columns, the effects of the
dispersed and continuous phase's volumetric rates, pulsation rate and interfacial tension in without mass
transfer conditions have been studied. The results show that by increasing of those effective operating
parameters except interfacial tension, having reverse effect on the starting point of the flooding, the column
floods rapidly. On the other hand, by increasing of pulsation rate the slip velocities have two different behaviors,
the pulsation rates should segregate in to upper and lower than 3 (cm/sec). Generally the proportionality
between the slip velocities and pulsation rates in two above mentioned zones are found.
