Internal filtration is one of the best methods to separate fine solid particles from liquid in industrial plants such as GTL process. In
this study, the effects of wax viscosity and the pressure difference between input and output of a sintered metal filter on the filtrate
flow rate in a slurry bubble column reactor were investigated. Paraffin and Alumina spheres were used to model the separation of
wax and Alumina supported Cobalt catalyst in F-T synthesis. The obtained results showed that by increasing temperature and
pressure difference, the filtrate flow rate will increase. Increasing the pressure difference from 0.5 to 1 bar increased the filtrate flow
rate 39% at 50˚c and 90% at 70˚c. Also there was about 49% increase in filtrate flow rate increasing the temperature from 50˚c to
60˚c and 13% increase in filtrate flow rate raising the temperature from 60˚c to 70˚c at 0.5 bar pressure difference.
