In resent decade, the various attempts are carried out for modeling and simulating of spray dryers using computational
fluid dynamics (CFD). The researches in this field are concluded by promoting math sciences and increase of
computational power of computers. But because of in presented models some of the complex phenomena aren’t
considered, thus modeling results aren’t reliable and we should compare these results with experimental data. The
traditional method which is used in process of salt production from salty lake has several disadvantages. Therefore in
this article feasibility of salt production from salty lake using spray drying is investigated by modeling and simulating
of spray dryer using CFD. In this study, finite volume method is used to solve the governing equations. The effects of
inlet air velocity, air temperature and outlet pressure on humidity and temperature distribution in process of salt
production using spray drying method is considered.
