Three series (A,B and C) of acrylic terpolymers: methylmethacrylate( MMA,50 wt%) n-butylacrylate( n-
BA,40-50 wt%) and 0-10 wt% acrylic acid(AA)/or acrylonitrile(AN) were synthesized in toluene in the same
condition. Adhesion, hardness, bending and impact resistance of the paint films, viscosity and drying time of
the resins were measured according to ASTM tests and compared with the paint which we made of it as
references. Comparison of the result showed that using 3 wt%AA could be preferred in the feed
compositions. The paint films adhesion, hardness and toughness were increased to reach those of the
reference sample using 3 wt% AA and by decreasing the concentration of MMA to 45 wt%.
