After primary oil recovery, gas injection of a fluid such as natural gas, CO2 or … can be used to recover about 80-90%
of unexploited oil in reservoirs. In this work, a variety of oil reservoirs and injection gases were selected from PVT
reports of the French petroleum company TOTALFINAELF to perform a study on miscible gas injection process. A
PVT simulator was used to calculate minimum miscibility pressure (MMP) values for reported oil reservoirs and
injection gases. The Pedrood and Kuo correlations were also used to evaluate the MMP. The calculated values of the
MMP by the correlations and simulation were compared with the slim tube test data. The relative absolute average
deviation with respect to the slim tube data (%AAD) for the simulation results by the PR-EOS and the SRK-EOS, the
Pedrood and Kuo correlations are reported.
