In this study we attest whether the hydrophobic/hydrophilic balance in the surface of solid catalysts might influence their catalytic performance. Therefore, two nanocatalyst were prepared and water adsorption-desorption isotherms of that, Et-PMO-Me-PrSO3H (1b) in comparison to SBA-15-PrSO3H (1a) have been measured. Effect of the hydrophobic surface of the 1b was investigated in the synthesis of benzimidazole
