The interactions and the relationships among the individuals are the fundamental concepts in literary works generally and in modern plays particularly. In almost all Pinter s plays the pathological relationships among the characters, entrapment in relationship, self-deception, misperceptions, the futile attempts to establish a true relationship and the victimization of characters, despite their attempts for the betterment of the relationships, are distinguishable. The researchers try to investigate the pathological relationships among the characters in Harold Pinter’s The Birthday Party (1957) in the light of Paul Watzlawick’s and R. D Laing’s theories. These theorists analyze different kinds of pathological relationships among human beings.
