Online education has recently attracted the attention of many schools and universities and has been defined as an educational necessity, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Online education has been mostly implemented in the form of online, semi-online, or offline models. However, despite the many benefits of online education, its effectiveness over in-person education is a key question. Focusing on this challenge, the present study has tried to compare the efficiency of three online education models versus the in-person model. This study was conducted at a public university with the participation of professors and students in different faculties. In this study, three different online and in-person models were employed and compared. The results showed that professors believed that the in-person model is more efficient than the online models employed in this study. However, the students had different opinions on this issue. Indeed, it seems that in different faculties, students and professors have different views on the efficiency of the employed models. Therefore, the general judgment about the effectiveness of educational models is not easy. However, in general, it can be acknowledged that the efficiency of online models is less than the in-person model.
