Congo red dye is a synthetic diazoic dye used in the textile industry that has harmful effects on human health and the environment. In this research, the decolorization and removal of Congo red from model wastewater was investigated by advanced oxidation processes. For such a purpose, hydrodynamic cavitation alone (HC), hydrodynamic cavitation with hydrogen peroxide (HC+H2O2) and hydrodynamic cavitation with hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet irradiation (HC+UV+H2O2) were investigated. According to the obtained experimental results following 120 min of treatment, removal efficiency of the aforementioned processes were 5.5%,77.7% and 91%, respectively. Also, the kinetic rate constants and the yield efficiency of the processes were calculated and the values related to that of the combined process of HC+UV+H2O2 were 2.35×〖10〗^-2〖min〗^-1 and 7.5×〖10〗^-3 mg〖kj〗^-1.
