The propellant processing as a high-filled composite material is a very important and serious subject, which involves mixing, casting and curing of the propellant. The most important parameter affecting propellant processing is the viscosity of the binder system. on the other hand, the viscosity of the binder system is strongly influenced by the microstructural parameters of the prepolymer, so by controlling the microstructural parameters, the propellant processing can be easily optimized. In this article, a comprehensive overview of the effect of these parameters on the viscosity of the binder system, or in other words, the processing of the propellant, has been tried to be expressed in a simple way. The results show that hydroxyl functionality and vinyl isomer content have the greatest effect on the viscosity of the binder system based on HTPB.
