With the advancement of optical fiber technology, accelerometers based on optical fiber have been receiving more and more attention due to their unique features, small and compact size. New types of optical fiber accelerometers are presented, which consist of Michelson interferometers, Fabry-Perot interferometers, fiber lasers and Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBG). Accelerometers based on fiber laser and interferometry can achieve high sensitivity detection. Waveform-shifting FBG based accelerometers have obvious advantages, which make them suitable for various vibration measurements, including electrical engineering, civil engineering, and mechanical equipment. Currently, various types of FBG-based accelerometers have been realized. In this research, optical accelerometers based on Bragg Gratings will be investigated, which are completely modern, suitable, safe, high precision and have strong stability.
