Corrosion resistance of black polyester and black alkyd – amine coatings on aluminum tubes

In this study, corrosion resistance of black polyester and black alkyd – amine coatings on aluminum tubes has been studied. The aluminum surfaces were prepared for coating by mechanical as well as chemical polishing. The polyester and alkyd - amine coatings were painted with black carbon pigment using electrostatic spraying and hand-spraying methods, respectively. The corrosion resistance of these coatings in 3.5 wt. % NaCl solution was studied by electrochemical impedance (EIS) technique. In contrast, alkyd – amine corrosion resistance was more than polyester coating.
