Abstract: Green laser and UV irradiations of
porphyrin solutions in dichloromethane solvent leads to
various extents of protonation, aggregation and
formation of solid deposits depending on the light
source and the nature of the specific porphyrins. In
order to evaluate the role of various factors in
controlling the main characteristics of samples, we
investigated the behaviour of a series of mesosubstituted
aryl porphyrin bearing protonable methoxy
pripherial group together with metal derivate of ˼ˬ˽
dimethoxy TPP. The Hydrogen bonding properties
together with the electrostatic contribute to stabilize the
growing nanoparticles at the interface between the
solution and the supporting surface. AFM images
clearly show two patterns of J-aggregate in deposited
porhyrins.
