In this paper we de ne determinantal ideal of a nitely generated R-module, namely FittR(M)
and assert some properties of this ideal. We show that if FittR(M) is a prime ideal of R,
then FittR(M) = FittR(aM), for every element a 2 R which is a nonzerodivisor on M.
