Abstract :
The aim of the study is to analyze opinions of students having pedagogical formation training related to their success intention. The study is based on the relational survey model and the scope is composed of students having pedagogical formation training at Inonu University Faculty of Education in 2011-2012 academic year spring semester. The sampling frame consists of 223 students graduated from the departments of Fine arts, Science-Mathematics, Social Sciences. Data was collected through the Inventory of Success Intention developed by Midgley et al. (1998) and adapted into Turkish by Akın and Çetin (2007). In data analysis t-test, one-way analysis of variance were used in order to determine if there exists any significant difference between students opinions related to their academic success perceptions and gender, type of the high school they graduated from, department. Research findings reveal that there exist no significant differences between genders, types of the high school they graduated from, department in terms of learning intention, performanceapproach, and performance-avoidance which are sub dimensions of success intention. On the other hand, there exists significant difference between medium achiever students’ academic success perceptions and performance-approach, and performance-avoidance.
