Abstract
Universities have social, cultural, economic impacts to their cities established in. Economic impact is the most compultable and appear in the short term. Universities have created economic boom by means of their capital investments, salary payments and the students’ expenditures. This study aim to find out that Cankiri Karatekin University created direct and indirect economic contrubution in city of Cankiri. For this purpose, it was calculated the expenditures realized by CKU, the employment provided by CKU, students’ expenditures and analyzed the expenditures of the students in terms of different variables. In the study, questionairre was applied to 835 CKU students who are studying in the city center in the academic year 2012-2013 and the data were analyzed by using SPSS 16 statistical software package.
